Hello bloodbrothers,

Thanks for joining us here in the QuickBooks Community and for taking a moment to share the details you're looking for when you export your customers from QuickBooks Online. I know there are various details that can be attributed to a customer, and there may be various reasons you'd like to export them. I'll help you with this.

There are a few ways to export customer information. One way is directly from the Customers page through the Sales tab, another is using the Export data option via the Gear icon, and the third is by using the Customer contact list report via the Reports section. The first option only gives you so many details about the customer, even if you use the small gear just above the list to add more columns. The Export data option will also only give you certain details about the customer.

For the most details possible, I encourage you to consider the Customer contact list report. You can customize that report to include each of the fields you're looking for except for the tax info, which isn't included with the Customers page or Export data options anyway. Here's how you can customize that report.

  1. Go to the Reports tab.
  2. Use the search bar on the reports page to find Customer contact list.
  3. Select Customize.
  4. Click Change columns on the Customize report sidebar that pops up.
  5. Check off columns such as Customer, Company Name, Phone Numbers, Email, Billing Address, Shipping Address, and other columns as needed.
  6. Click Run report.

Note that column Taxable only indicates whether the customer is taxable or not and it will just indicate Yes or No. Apart from a column for tax info, however, you should be able to populate the fields you need and then export the report. Our Run reports in QuickBooks Online article also includes steps for how to print, email, and export reports, so feel free to reference that if you need a hand with exporting.

What you can consider here is exporting the report to Excel so that you can add the column for tax info, manually fill it out, and then have a complete set of data for your records or other needs.

You can also take a moment to submit feedback if you'd like: How do I submit feedback? Doing that gives you the opportunity to share what you'd like to see in terms of options or data in QuickBooks Online so our product development team can consider new ways to enhance the software. We also have the QuickBooks Online Feature and Product Updates page where you can see the latest features added to the program.

I hope this has been helpful! Let me know if there's anything else I can do to assist.
