I have a customer who is also a payee how do I add them in both places without causing an issue

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I'd be glad to answer your question about adding a customer who's also a supplier in QuickBooks. 

At this time, QuickBooks doesn't allow you to add a customer with the same name as a supplier. A common workaround is changing up the name by wither adding a number or a symbol in the name. Doing this will allow you to keep track of the same supplier/customer with ease.
