Question

I have imported my customers and service codes. I went to test an invoice and it forced me to email. Is there a setting that allows me to print a customer invoice?

Hi norman2,

I can help sort this out so that you don't have to email your invoices.

When creating invoices and other transactions in QuickBooks Online, you have several options when logged into a browser or using the QuickBooks Online desktop app for Windows or Mac.

  • Save
  • Save and Send
  • Save and Close
  • Save and New
  • Save and Share Link

The Save button is on its own, but you can switch between the other four by clicking the downward-facing arrow beside the green button.

As for printing, it's as simple as clicking the Print or Preview option in the black bar at the bottom of the screen. From there, you can choose between Print or Preview and Print Packing Slip. There's also a box you can check for Print Later.

Once you open up the Print or Preview option, the program will automatically save the invoice for you and launch the preview screen. Here, you can Print by clicking the print button in the bottom right. You can also rotate and download the transaction by hovering over it and clicking one of the buttons that appears in the upper right.

If you're not seeing those options, try clearing your browser's cache to make sure that all temporary data that may cause display issues is erased. Using Chrome or Firefox will also ensure the best functionality for the program.
