Question

I have setup recurring transactions using the old format and wish to keep using that format, but QuickBooks will not allow me to access that format. What do I do now?

Based on the details you've shared, I recommend clearing cache and cookies on your browser. Clearing cache and cookies is a great way to clean your browser allowing it to work more efficiently.
