Hello Star 1850,

Thank-you for being a member of the QuickBooks family. Importing your customer list is a great way to streamline the process of entering data. This process has been made easy in QuickBooks Online with the Import data feature. I'll go over how it works.

While logged into QuickBooks Online, you can follow the steps below to import your customer list as a .CSV or Excel file:

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Tools, select Import data.
  3. Choose the icon for Customers.
  4. Follow the link to download a sample file which shows you how to format the file you're uploading.
  5. Hit Browse to locate your file, and Open once you've selected it.
  6. Click Next to proceed.
  7. Map the fields in your spreadsheet to the fields in QuickBooks Online, then click Next again.
  8. Select the customers you want to import, then click Import.

A screen share with an agent will help speed this process along, so if you're having some difficulty with the steps above, I encourage you to reach out to our support team using one of the methods below. You're also welcome to expand on any issues you might run into and I can continue to support you right here in the Community. Just remember that the Community is a public forum, so it's not a safe place to share sensitive account details. Those are best shared via chat or phone with an agent.
