Hi there keiinc,

Ensuring that you've got the most up-to-date information within QuickBooks for your bank accounts and credit cards ensures that you're always able to pull your transactions in through the bank feed. The bank feed feature in QuickBooks Online makes entering your transactions such an easy process, so it's important that you don't experience a disruption in the connection. Let me go over why you're seeing duplicate transactions after connecting your credit card again.

There are any number of reasons why you might need to get a new credit card, and updating that account in QuickBooks is as simple as disconnecting the account from the bank feed, then reconnecting it. Here's how to disconnect an account:

  1. Navigate to the Banking or Transactions menu, then select the Banking tab.
  2. Select the tile for your credit card.
  3. Click the small Pencil icon, then choose Edit account info.
  4. Select the checkbox for Disconnect this account on save
  5. Hit Save and Close.

Once you've disconnected it, you'll need to reconnect it, ensuring that you only select to pull in transactions from the date that you disconnected. This helps to prevent duplicate transactions. Duplicate transactions aren't a big deal though, you'll simply need to select the checkbox for them and hit Exclude. This moves them to the Excluded tab within the Banking menu. If you need to bring them back to the For review tab in order to categorize them at a later date, simply navigate to the Excluded tab and hit Undo from the Action column.

Since you said that all of your previously categorized transactions have pulled through when you re-connected your account, I'd suggest disconnecting and reconnecting it again, ensuring that you only select the most recent date that you'll need new transactions from. The old transactions will still be in QuickBooks and this way you'll only see the transactions from the few days since you originally disconnected the feed or got a new card.

I'm happy to help if there's anything else you need. Enjoy your day.
