Good day to you, info160.

Entering the serial number (SKU) is available in all QuickBooks Online versions. To be able the serial number to come up in your invoice, you'll have to manually enter it to the Product/Service information page.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Sales tab, then choose Product and Services.
  2. Click the Edit link for the product or services that you wanted to add the serial number.
  3. Enter the serial number on the SKU field, then Save and close.

In addition to that, SKU will only appear on a previewed invoice if you're using the Airy form.

  1. Click the Gear icon and then select Custom Form Styles.
  2. Look for your current form style and click Edit.
  3. Under the Design tab, click Change up the template and then choose Airy classic.
  4. Go to the Content tab.
  5. Click the edit (pencil) icon on the second table.
  6. Put a check () mark on the SKU box.
  7. Click Done.

Moving forward, the SKU column will display on your invoices.

That's doesn't answer my query, unfortunately.

If I have 10 items to invoice and as I enter the 10 items an automatic serial number would follow..or if that is not possible..then I would be happy if I can have a column where I could enter the serial number manually.

A serial number does show up while making the invoice but it does not show up in the invoice.

Thanks for getting back, info160.

Once you've entered the serial number in the SKU field in the items information, it should also display when previewing the invoice.
Remember that invoice template should be set to Airy style. Here's how to check if you're using the correct invoice template:

  1. Open the invoice
  2. Click Customize at the bottom menu and make sure you're using the correct template.
  3. Change the template if necessary.
  4. Click Save.

If you still need to set up the invoice template, you can follow the steps in my initial reply.

I've also added screenshots as your guide.

Also, adding a column for manually entering the serial number is unavailable in QuickBooks Online. I will share this information to our development team as well.

You can always reach out to me if there's anything that I can help.
