Question

I would like to use the rep field on the invoice template in the detail section, line by line. This would provide the sales revenue the rep would be paid commissions on.

Hello there, ronfisher.

I'd be happy to share the steps with you on how to add the Rep field on your invoice template.

Here's what you'll need to do:

  1. Go to Lists menu at the top.
  2. Select Templates.
  3. In the Templates window, select the invoice template and click the Open Form button.
  4. In the Create Invoices window, go to the Formatting tab.
  5. Click Customize Data Layout.
  6. In the Additional Customization window, go to the Columns tab.
  7. In the Other 1 section, put a check-mark for Screen and Print box.
  8. In the Title field, enter Rep.
  9. Click OK.

From there, upon creating an invoice, you'd now able to enter the Rep in every line item.

@ronfisher

You can not do that, the best you can do to track sales the way you want is use classes. Only a class can be used to tag line items.
