Hello nuchctech,

This is a great question, and I'm glad you've taken the time to think about how these different tools in QuickBooks Online might interact with each other. Doing that is the perfect way to ensure that your books balance and you aren't dealing with anything like duplicate transactions. I can explain your options with entering these transactions.

When you use the QuickBooks Online bank feed feature to download transactions from your bank or credit card website, there are a few ways you can manage them. If you've already manually entered the transactions into the books, you can match the feed transactions to those existing ones. If you haven't entered the transactions manually before the feed download, however, you can simply add the transactions to create the entry in your books.

If you're going with the second option of adding the transaction, you wouldn't want to then manually enter it because it would create a second entry for the same information, which will throw off your books if you don't need the entry in there twice.

I invite you to read through the Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online article right here in the QuickBooks Community. It goes into detail about how the bank feeds work to manage your transactions, the different tasks you can complete, and how it impacts your account.

That should get you on your way, but I'll be around if you have further questions. Don't hesitate to reach out again!
