Hey unmudl2019,

QuickBooks Online is all about giving you control, while offering powerful features to make your bookkeeping easy. The default settings are designed to be the most commonly used ones, helping you get right to work without needing to make too many changes. They may not be suitable for every business, but there are a vast amount of options available to help you personalize the QuickBooks experience. I'm confident we'll have no problem setting everything up for this company.

Many service companies sell services based on a quantity of hours, which makes it easy to set a rate to automatically calculate the amount. If this isn't the case, we can remove this in just a few simple steps:

  1. Click on the Gear icon then Custom Form Styles.
  2. Click Edit for the style you use, then select the Content tab.
  3. Click in the centre section, uncheck Quantity (and Rate, if desired) then click Done.
  4. (Optional) You can change the label to something else instead by clicking Edit labels and width.

This removes the customer-facing label. You can disable the Quantity and Rate field entirely at any time:

  1. Click on the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
  2. Go to the Sales section.
  3. In the Products and services section, uncheck Track quantity and price/rate.
  4. Click Save then Done.

With this, you won't have the quantity field anywhere in your account. To reactivate these, simply head back to the same place.

Let me know how this goes!
