If vehicles sell via an auction company, auction fees are deducted from the sale price prior to direct debit payment to us. Do I enter an expense for auction fees?

Welcome to the Community. It's important to correctly record your transactions in order to keep track of your books. QuickBooks Online is a great program that offers the ability to simply track your sales and expenses. I'd be glad to point you in the right direction so that you can get back doing what you love.

I'd encourage you to consult an accountant as they have the knowledge to point you in the right direction to correcty record your expense to ensure that your books are balanced. If you don't have an accountant, you can find one near you by clicking on My Accountant on the left navigation menu> and then Find a pro to help.
