Question

Invoice and Charge Card on File?

Just recently switched from QB Self-Employed to QB Online. Looking to use QB's invoicing and payments and move away from Stripe...

So my question is, am I able to invoice an existing customer, and immediately charge their card that I have on file without them manually have to do anything?

Thank you.

Hi Thai,

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community forum. It's great to have you here! When looking for ways to receive payments from customers you need not look further than QuickBooks Online's Payments feature. I can help go over some of the ways to use this feature to save you time.

Using QuickBooks Online Payments is a quick and easy way to receive what's owed on an invoice from your customers allowing you to more time for other tasks. Before going over the ways you can receive credit card payments lets make sure your account is set up to receive payments. You can follow the steps in this article to make sure you are set up properly. You can receive credit card payments a few ways. First you can send a copy of the invoice to your customer and they can pay directly from there as long as you have payments set up on your account.

The second option is a quicker way to receive payments. If you have a customers credit card on file you can process it directly through QuickBooks Online by going to receive payments or making a sales receipt. This will charge the credit card directly.

That is all there is to it! I'm sure once you process your first payment you'll love how easy it is to receive your payments from customers.

Hope you have a great one!
