Invoice Date

We have a customer that asked that we date our invoices the last day of the previous month. We want to accommodate our customer without increasing our average collection period. Is there a way to send an invoice to the customer with one date and record the invoice at the actual day the invoice was sent?

Thanks for taking the time to post in our Community. I'll be happy to steer you in the right direction. 

 

QuickBooks Online allows you enter any date you'd like when creating an invoice. Once the payment has been received you can always go back and change the invoice date. Here are the steps which show you how to change the invoice date:

 

  1.     Go to Sales.
  2.     In the Customers tab, click on the customer name.
  3.     Select the invoice to open it up.
  4.     Update the invoice date (due date).
  5.     Click on Save and close.
