Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there was a way in the additional customization/layout designer to edit the way that invoice item details show up on statements? When I click to show invoice item details on the statements, they show up like this:

Is there a way to edit that so it would show up like it does on the invoice with Basic professional fee on the left and just the amount of $1,575 on the right?

Hi WillMac,

Thanks for including that screenshot and the explanation of what you're hoping to see when you create a customer statement with the item details in QuickBooks Desktop. I know maintaining a professional appearance is important and how even a simple customer statement displays can impact that impression of you to your customers. I can go over this with you.

QuickBooks Desktop has a fairly wide variety of customization options when it comes to the forms available in the program, as seen in the article Use and customize form templates. At this time, there isn't an option, however, to customize the statements in the way you mention here. Because of how the statements are laid out, including the detail of the listed transaction means displaying it underneath of the transaction listing. There isn't a way to add columns within the columns or to arrange the statements to more readily meet what you're looking for.

This is a great opportunity to submit feedback to our product development team. It's done as easily as going to the Help menu in QuickBooks Desktop, then choosing Send Feedback Online. There's a Product Suggestions option that'll do the trick for you.

In the meantime, you could consider maybe working with customer statements outside of the program to make sure they're meeting your preferences or there could be an app that connects with QuickBooks Desktop that may help expand on your options. Check out available apps here: Apps for QuickBooks Desktop.
