Hi there,

QuickBooks Online Accountant Pro Tax is a cloud-based software that allows users to file returns directly to the CRA. This is an awesome way to save yourself time with your business bookkeeping, both for your clients and for yourself. I'll explain how to file a T2 for your own practice using Pro Tax.

Yes, you can create a return from scratch to file for your own firm. To do this however you will need to add your firm as a ‘client’ within your QuickBooks Online Accountant. There is no connection between your firm’s QuickBooks Online and Pro Tax at this time.

Here's more information about how to do this: Pro Tax: file a return.

For more details and a Q&A article regarding Pro Tax, check out this resource: Pro Tax FAQs

I hope this helps clear things up for you. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our tech support team.

Cheers.

Can I buy a basic QB subscription for my Accountant' "Your Books"?

So my company becomes a user.

Hi gregwood,

Welcome to Community!  It's exciting to hear that you would like to team up with your accountant in QuickBooks Online.  I would be glad to help!

To get started, please share this link with your Accountant, so they can establish their QuickBooks Online Accountant account.  Once they've set up their account, you can invite them to your books, by following the steps here.  Please ensure you invite them with their Firm's email address.  This will prevent any errors when they receive the invitation in their email.  Once the invitation is accepted, they can access your books using their own login credentials.

Feel free to reach back out, if you have other questions.  We would be happy to assist!
