Hey there and welcome to the Community!

Being able to organize your customers in a way that's optimal for your business is key. QuickBooks won't allow you to enter multiple customers, suppliers, or employees with the same name, but there is another great option that I think you'll find helpful. Let me explain.

While you can't create multiple customer profiles with the same name, you can create a Parent customer with as many Sub-Customers as you need for each franchise location. Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Sales menu, then to the Customers tab.
  2. Create a New Customer or use the Action column to Edit an existing customer.
  3. Select the box for Is sub-customer
  4. Select the Parent customer from the dropdown menu.
  5. Choose Bill this customer rather than Bill with parent so that you can invoice this customer individually.
  6. Hit Save when you've finished.

You can add as many sub-customers as you need, and up to 3 levels under each Parent customer. So for example, your Parent customer will be the main company, then each sub-customer can be created as the name of the franchise location. This should eliminate your need for multiple customers with the same name.

I'm confident that this should do the trick for you, but let me know if you have further questions. Have a great day!
