While you can't use the search bar to find items and their related transactions, there is a way to see items and their sales in the program: reports. We may often think of reports as being for things like seeing your profits and losses, but they also help to organize information in a comprehensible way and can make it easier to find information.

For your situation, I recommend a report such as the Sales by Product/Service Details or Sales by Product/Service Summary report to see transactions for the item you're looking for. Reports show you the same general information, but one is more detailed than the other. The Detail report is available in QuickBooks Online Essentials and Plus, while the Summary report is available in all three QuickBooks Online plans.
