Question

Is there a way to see the date a transaction was entered (not the date of the invoice)?

If I run a P&L for a month, let's say Jan, I'll see changes when I run them on different dates. Reason being transactions can be entered after the end of the month.

I'd like to be able to see all the transactions that were entered Feb 1 - Feb 10.

How do I do this? The audit log isn't ideal, I'd like to be able to generate a report in Excel and filter.

Hello Swordfish,

Thanks for contacting us here. QuickBooks is a versatile program that helps you bring your finances into perspective. I'll be happy to share more info so you're on the right track with accomplishing your QuickBooks goals.

The tool that allows you to view the info you're looking for is the Audit. This tool provides you with a list of changes/transactions that were made on your account.  Here's how to use the Audit log:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙ and select Audit Log.
  2. Select Filter.
  3. Use the fields on the Filter panel to choose the appropriate UserDate, or Events filter to narrow the results.
  4. If you've recently created these transactions, locate them on the Audit log screen, click on the blue link to open the transaction in question and retrieve the required info.
  5. Select Apply.

Otherwise, I recommend looking into using a third-party data management app that you can search for on our site www.apps.com. In the meantime, feel free to ask other questions. I'll be here to help.
