Question

Just a suggestion but having the ability to schedule invoicing to be sent at a particular time and date in the future would be very helpful! :)

Hi melissa24,

I'm so glad you've reached out, because I have great news for you! QuickBooks Online has a feature called Recurring Transactions, which sounds perfect for what you're trying to do. With recurring transactions you can set your system up to automatically send invoices on a specific day.

Recurring Transactions is available in QuickBooks Online Essentials and Plus, so if you're using QuickBooks EasyStart, you may want to upgrade your subscription.

To upgrade, follow these simple steps:

1. Select the Gear icon ⚙ and select Account and Settings.

2. Select the Billing & Subscription menu.

3. In the QuickBooks Online section, choose the plan you want and select Upgrade.

4. Confirm your payment information and select Save.

Once you gain access to QuickBooks Essentials or Plus, you can begin creating recurring transactions. You can do this for any transaction except bill payments, customer payments, and time activities.

Check out this article for steps on how to create a recurring invoice: Create templates for recurring transactions.

If you have any other questions for me once you read through the article above, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Have a great day!

Actually no - recurring invoicing is not what I am looking for.  That would be helpful if it was something that recurs.  These are one-off invoices that I am asked to send out at a certain time and/or date.  Is there a function for that?

Not to worry. Recurring transactions can be sent on a specific day, and they can be set up to only send once. When you create a recurring invoice, you'll be asked to select an interval. For this, select Daily, every 1 day. Set your Start Date for the day you'd like the invoice to be sent, and from the End column, select After 1 occurance

This will send your invoice on the day you select, and it won't recur again unless you set it up this way in the system. Let me know if you have any questions about that. I'd be happy to clarify further for you.

I can totally see why you think that's the same but I am suggesting something more accurate.  I would like to be able to be in "invoices" and right click on it and where it says "Send" have another option that says "Delay Send" or "Scheduled Send".  Then I could literally pick if I want it sent at 4:30 PM on Friday the 12th or 9:01 AM Monday, etc.  You do not currently have this so I am suggesting it.  Recurring doesn't do this.
