Solved

My default tax codes for my customers has disappeared. I am no longer able to enter a tax code on any invoice. Is there a fix for this?

Hello robinmac,

It's great to hear that you've taken advantage of setup options like assigning default sales tax codes to your customers in QuickBooks Online. I know how much this can be a time saver when it comes to data entry, and it's important to me that you're able to continue using that feature and sales tax codes in general on your transactions. I'm here to help.

With more detail about your situation, I'm confident we can get to the bottom of what's going on. For example, knowing when this started happening, if it's only for certain customers, if the codes are still assigned but just don't populate, and details like that make a difference. Not to worry, though! I've got some troubleshooting steps you can try to get started.

The following troubleshooting steps tackle issues that could arise from your browser type, Internet, and cache. Please give these a try one at a time to see if they help resolve the issue.

If those don't do the trick, I encourage you to reach out to our support team outside of this forum so that we can gather those additional details from you and then troubleshoot further to determine the next steps to resolve this. There are a few ways to reach us, so feel free to choose whichever works best for you.

Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right in QuickBooks Online > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.
