On my dashboard, the amount shown as profit... does it include GST charged to the clients on our invoices or is it the net profit?

It's good to know what consists of the total amount you're seeing on your dashboard. I'll be happy to share more info on this. 

The amounts on your Sales graph on the dashboard are based on the sales transactions in your account for the period specified. This doesn't include journal entries posted to your sales accounts and the calculated sales taxes.

I recommend checking if the amount on your dashboard matches your report.You can do this by following the steps below:

1.     Click Reports at the left pane.
2.     Look for Sales by Customer Summary in the search field.
3.     Change the Report period at the top so it matches the dates period
4.     Click Run Report
