Question

Payroll processing requests bank confirmation of receipt of small transaction confirmation. What do you do when it isn't sending this small amount?

Hello darcy-taylor-gri,

It's a pleasure to see you in Community. Welcome! Setting up direct deposit with QuickBooks Online Payroll, is a dynamic way to pay your staff with confidence. I would be happy to provide more information, so you can accomplish your QuickBooks goals as soon as possible!

Once you've completed the required elements in the direct deposit set up, you'll see two small test debits of less than $1.00, within 2 - 3 business days. If you don't see the 'test' transactions to the associated account, you may need to retrigger the test transactions. Here's how;

1. Open your Settings ⚙️, then Payroll settings

2. Click on the Edit 📝 next to Bank accounts, then select Verify test transaction

3. To reset the test transaction, enter $0.01 in the boxes below and select Verify 3 times. Doing this will fail the test transaction and let you add the banking information again.

4. Go back to Payroll Settings and select the Edit button next to the Bank Account field

5. Re-enter the correct bank account information

6. Hit Continue to save changes

This should trigger QuickBooks Online to send the test transaction to your bank, within 2-3 business days.

Follow these steps to verify these amounts:

1. From your Settings ⚙️, open Payroll settings

2. Select the Edit 📝 next to Bank accounts, then select Verify your account

Note; This option becomes available 24 - 48 hours after the bank account information is entered.

3. Enter the two test transaction amounts in cents only, without a dollar sign. (for example, 47 for $0.47)

4. Hit Verify.

Please feel free to reach back out, if you have any other questions. We would be glad to help!
