Hi there bob138,

In QuickBooks Online, it's easy to make changes to and save your invoices as you need. I can see how having the invoices revert to the originals while exporting could cause problems with your books and reports, so I want to make sure that this is addressed.

When you change a transaction in QuickBooks Online, the most important step is making sure those changes are saved. You can do this by either clicking the Save button or the Save and button, which has a few other options such as closing, creating a new transaction, or sending. This will ensure that the program registers the changes that you've made so you can keep on track.

Once you've done that, you should be able to export the invoice using whatever method you have without it reverting to another version of the transaction. Keep in mind that there isn't a way to export invoice transactions out of QuickBooks Online, but you can export reports and even transaction lists. If that's what you're doing and you're not seeing the correct information, I recommend the following troubleshooting steps to make sure that things aren't going awry because of issues with the cache, browser, app, or Internet.

If you're using a third-party app or service to export your data out of QuickBooks and it's in that app or service that you're seeing the incorrect details, I recommend contacting support for that app or service to find out what's going on. For apps connected through the Apps tab, you can find the contact details under the app information page. Here's how.

  1. Select Apps from the left menu.
  2. Go to My Apps.
  3. Choose the app.
  4. Review the App information section for contact details.

In the event that what I've gone over hasn't hit the mark, more information about what's going on will help us get to the bottom of this. Feel free to hit reply to share about what's going on and include as many details as possible. Please note that Community is a public forum, so don't share any personal or account information.

All the best to you!
