Question

Project transactions to sub-customers

Since there is no way to easily change projects back into a sub-customer, is there a way to easily change all the transactions on a project to their respective sub-customer? My software , like everyone else's on this planet, cannot access projects due to Intuit not releasing the API.

This is absolutely unacceptable given how QuickBooks pushes using projects instead of sub-customers, which my software uses to access accounting data.

Hi there njb4,

It's important that all your transactions have the correct information so your account balances can be accurate. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to help you keep track of sales and expenses so you can view the profitability of your business. I can provide some information about modifying transactions.

There isn't a way to move transactions from one customer or project to another in bulk, so it would need to be moved by going into the transaction, then modifying the customer to the new one, and saving. This would need to be done for each transaction. I can see that having the ability to change projects to sub-customers and being able to move multiple transactions from one customer or project to another would be features that you'd like to see to help with managing your receivables. I recommend leaving feedback in the system by clicking on the Gear Icon, then Feedback. The comments made in that section are taken into consideration by our developers when designing new features for QuickBooks Online.
