Question

Projects not showing up in Invoices drop down list

I need to reclassify multiple invoices against their respective projects and can't lost the data and audit trails that are attached to the invoices.

The problem I am having is that I can't see recurring projects in the drop down list, only the ones that have a fixed non-recurring deadline set to them.

Hi JFR_CPACA,

Thanks for reaching out here.  Having the ability to reclassify transactions in QuickBooks Online is a great time saver.  I'll be happy to provide more information here so you're on the right path to completing your goals!

Based on the information you've provided, you'll need to turn off the recurring date feature for the specific projects in order to reclassify the invoices to them, or you'll need to add the existing invoices manually to their respective project.  If this is something you feel would be beneficial, I recommend submitting a suggestion to our Development team for future updates and feature improvements.

Please don't hesitate to reach back out with other questions.  We'd be glad to help!

Do you have any instructions on how to revert a project from recurring to non recurring and vice versa?  I don't have that option when editing the projects.

It's great to see you here in the QuickBooks Community, @JFR_CPACA.

I can share some insights about this recurring projects feature in QuickBooks Online Accountant files. If you want to update the recurrence of the project, simply click the Repeat slider beside the due date. This will set the transaction as recurring or not.

See this link for more insights about this preference: Create Repeating Projects in QuickBooks Online Accountant.
