projects vs inputting individual timesheet for invoicing purposes

When working in projects is it possbile to still get a full timesheet print out for that employee when inputted this way as opposed to inputting into a timesheet format? Projects is just for activities but having said that it will work as long as i can obtain a complete weekly timesheet print out for each employee. Is this possible when working in projects and time activity?

The Projects feature is an awesome way to keep all of your job costs and income organized all in one place. I know how important it is to track your employee's weekly time. Having a printed copy is an awesome idea. As you've explained above, Projects uses Time Activities to track hours worked. I'd be happy to shed some light on your options if you're looking for weekly time tracking tools. 

 

If you use TSheets to track your employees’ time, you can import time tracked directly into the weekly timesheets.

 

The Time option lets you record a single day of work by one of your workers. If you want to add weekly timesheets, there are a few extra steps. Tracking your project labour costs is a two-part process. First, you need to calculate the hourly cost rate for each worker. Then you’ll be able to add project timesheets using your hourly cost rates.

Thank you.

Now that I will try this service I have 2 further questions even after doing furhter investigation.

1. For employees, if an employee has 2-3 different hourly billing rates for different jobs they perform, how do you set this up?

2. Can an employee input both in projects time activity and in t-sheets manual timesheets also? to further clarify. if one is able to input time activity say a few times a day but not all day and fill in the rest of the time in manual timesheets, is this possible? and if so can a weekly timesheet for that employee be printed in detail per hour per day?

Hi there, thanks for reaching back out and following up. Timesheets only allow a single hourly rate. If you need to enter multiple hourly rates, you can sign up for a QBO Payroll subscription.

 

In terms of entering your timesheets manually in the Projects module as well as TSheets, this is something I'd recommend running by our tech support team directly. This is a unique situation where the answer may depend on how things have been set up in your account and what your ultimate goal is.
