Purchase Orders in Projects

Hi,

I'm wondering if you can create PO's in projects so that they are attached to certain jobs. Is this possible?

We created one in a certain job and emailed it to the client but it doesn't show up in that project. How can this stay attached to the specific project?

Hi sward1,

I'm so happy to hear you're taking advantage of the Projects feature in QuickBooks Online. This makes it so much easier to keep job-specific transactions pooled together in one place. I'd be happy to explain how you can add a Purchase Order to your project.

You can definitely add a PO to your specific project to link the transaction to your job. I'll explain the steps below.

1. Click the Projects tab on the left navigation menu.

2. Select your project from the list.

3. Click Add to project

4. Select Purchase Order

It sounds like you may have created the PO outside the project window and linked it to the Customer, rather than the Project itself. If you need to delete this PO, click the Expenses tab, find your PO, click More at the bottom of the page, then click Delete

You can then recreate your PO the way I described above. I hope this helps get you back on track!
