I have two payments through quickbook payments that are listed as "on hold" for one since January and also one recent that says declined/rejected but both of which have been deposited in my bank account but quickbooks does not recognize the payments so I am not sure how to balance the payments?! any suggestions?

Hi there, @oatsey66. Let me share with you some information about payments on hold.

When something unexpected occurs in your transaction, this can trigger a hold on that payment. You'll receive an email with detailed instructions on what additional information is needed to complete the review. Usually, it'll take two business days for the review to be completed. You can read through this article for more information: Understanding Payment Holds

Once the payment is deposited to your bank, it should also reflect the same status in QuickBooks. Since the payment is listed as on hold in QuickBooks, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Payment support to review this further. They can also guide you on how to balance the payments to keep your books in place.

Alternatively, you may record the deposit or payment through the +New icon to balance your entries.

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Click on the +New icon, then select Receive Payments or Bank Deposit.
  3. Fill in the information.
  4. Save the transaction.

I'm also adding these links for more tips about deposits in QBO:
