Using QUICKBOOKS DESKTOP FOR MAC, when I customize my Customer invoice, I cannot locate the option to Subtotal Hours Billed.

To be clear, I seek to add a field that would automatically subtotal the Quantity of hours Column on the invoice.

I am using the Layout designer.

Thank you for any assistance

Hi there, DTGLLC,

At this point, you can edit the current template and mark serviced and quantity to add this column to the form. This is the workaround while QuickBooks is unable to automatically add a subtotal line of all the billable time.

Let me show you how:

  1. Open the invoice template.
  2. Choose a template from the Template pop-up menu at the top of the form.
  3. Go to the Columns tab.
  4. Mark Quantity and Serviced.

On your invoice page, enter the date when billable hours occur in the Serviced column. And, the number of billable hours in the Quantity field.

I've added this file QuickBooks Desktop Mac 2020 User’s Guide to help you customize the look of forms. Then, proceed to page 227 for instructions and screenshots.
