Question

Remove Tax Line from Invoice

Hey everyone!

I'm new to QB Desktop but am loving it so far. One question I've got has to do with customizing my invoice. I'm happy with my layout but I don't like that when I generate an invoice with client data there is an item line inserted with the sales tax amount as I've already got my taxes at the bottom of my invoice. I've attached a screen shot to show what I mean. Is there any way to remove this line?

I appreciate you for reaching out to us here in the Community, Brian.

I can see the importance of having the sales tax appear only in the footer of your invoice. Removing the tax details on the line item is currently unavailable. The good news is, you may consider importing an invoice form style or template to customize the tax information.

Here's how:

  1. Prepare the template your want to import.
  2. Open the company file that you want to import the template into.
  3. Click on Templates from the Lists menu.
  4. Select the Templates ▼ dropdown, select Import.
  5. Choose the template you want to import, then select Open.
  6. Name the imported template. You can keep the original name or change it.
  7. Hit OK. You should now see the imported template on the template list.

Then, use the imported template when recording your invoices.
