Start Up - Entering Aged A/R

Hello 

I have entered several aged A/R invoices and once they are done and go back to my dashboard, the screen says there is nothing outstanding. When I click on the Customers tab, the invoices are there under the account but are not showing a list on the overview page. Can I switch this? (I have added a photo)

Hello @jbirston ,

 

When you go to the Gear Icon-->Company Settings-->Company, is the Accounting method set to 'Cash'?  If so, that would be why you aren't seeing anything on the Dashboard.  The Cash method only realizes income once the payment is received.

 

Switch the Accounting Method to 'Accrual'.  If you are in Canada, this is the correct accounting method.  There are very few businesses in Canada allowed to use the Cash accounting method, farmers and fishermen being among them.  Everyone else has to realize revenue when they invoice it, not when they get paid for it.

 

Your dashboard should display as you expect it when you change that Accounting Method in the settings.
