Question

The message on invoice or estimate is still in a minimized state. For 5 years I have relied on this feature for providing info to clients. Why the change?

Hello pacificdustlessb,

Welcome back to the community! I'll explain what's going on with the message box on estimates or invoices. I know this is a useful tool to let your customers know additional information about the transaction, and I want to make sure you're able to use it.

We've had reports of this sort of thing happening—where the message box is a long, slender box that only seems to take one line of text. What we've found is that it's only appearing this way in certain browsers. Because of that, here are some troubleshooting steps I have for you.

The first is to make sure that there aren't any temporary Internet files causing issues by clearing your cache. I have an article here that explains how to do that: How do I clear my browser cache and temporary Internet files? That article also lets you know how to clear the cache for the QuickBooks Online app for Mac or Windows as well if that's what you happen to be using.

If that doesn't make a different, I recommend trying another browser or switching to a browser if you're using the app. The following article goes over what browsers work best with QuickBooks Online. Even if the one you're currently using is listed, please try another just to be sure: System requirements for QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Online Accountant, and QuickBooks Self-Employed

I hope that helps! I'm here if you have further questions.
