It's good to see you here, @cnd.excavating.

I'm glad to help you add interest on overdue invoices. You can add a service item for the interest and include it on the invoice line item when you send the invoice.

Create a service fee item using these steps:

  1. Go to the Sales menu and select the Products and services tab.
  2. Click New.
  3. Choose Service.
  4. Add the name of the item.
  5. From the Category ▼ dropdown, select the category that best describes the fee.Learn more about item categories.
  6. Fill out the rest of the fields as needed.
  7. When you're done, select Save and close.

Next, add the fee to an invoice. If you already have an invoice, and havent sent it yet, you may still edit the details and add the interest to it. Otherwise, you can create a new invoice with only the interest item and send it to your client. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Sales menu and select the Customers tab.
  2. Find and open the customer's invoice.
  3. In the Product/Service dropdown, select the fee item you created.
  4. Select Save and send or Save and close.
