Unidentified bank detail external deposit

Where do I find this reference number so I know which customer to apply this payment to. It does not match any reference numbers found under sales>deposits.

Hi there, 

 

Recording customer payments is a vital step in closing out your transactions and ensuring your books match your bank account. There's a really simple way to find specific transactions that have been entered into QuickBooks Online. I'll help explain how. 

 

Use the magnifying glass at the top right hand side of the page to search for specific transactions based on various details. You can search for your payment by the customer's name, the amount, any kind of reference number you associated with the transaction, etc. I recommend using this tool to try and find your customer's payment. 

 

If you're still not finding the transaction you're looking for, I recommend reaching out to our tech support team for further assistance. They'll be able to help you locate the transaction so you can match it to your bank account.

Search does not work for us as several customers pay the same dollar amount. Business is a daycare

This deposit is generated by QB so the numbers must match something to identify the payer

I see what you're saying. I'd suggest reaching out to the tech support agents so they can share your screen remotely and help you search for the transaction in real time.
