hi craftsmanexterio:

The QBO uses something call Open Authorization (OAuth) to keep your session alive, similar to online banking apps, it has a timeout built in so that if you walk away from your computer, your financials aren't open to the world.

In the online, if you go to Help and search 'login timeout' you'll see the following instructions on how to change that:

Change the timeout duration in QuickBooks Online

QuickBooks Online uses a timeout feature for your security. This feature helps prevent unauthorized persons from accessing your data when you're away from the computer.

So, if you are working in QuickBooks Online and is inactive for a period of time, you will see a "time out" security message. The default setting is 1 hour, but that setting can be changed for up to 3 hours.

Change the time out duration in QuickBooks Online
Go to Settings ⚙️, then select Account and Settings.
Select Advanced.
Select Edit ✎ from the Other preferences section.
Choose 1, 2, or 3 hours from the Sign me out if inactive ▼ drop-down menu.

Hope this helps!
