Question

We have 4 subdivisions in our company. We would like a way to auto add text to the end of invoice number when it comes from a specific department. How can we do this?

Welcome to the community family! Having an adequate numbering system for your invoices helps you properly organize and easily track them in the software. QuickBooks Online is all about simplifying your bookkeeping. I'd be happy to share more on this.

 

QuickBooks automatically assigns numbers to your sales forms. At the moment, the numbering system is not automatic for letters, and those have to be added manually to your forms. I can see how having an automatic option for letter sequence would have benefited your business, and I encourage you to submit feedback to share your thoughts with our engineers. We are always looking for new ideas to innovate the product, and your opinion helps a lot with that.
