Hi there,

Having the ability to convert your estimates into invoices is one of the best time-saving tools in QuickBooks Online. This makes it so much easier to move forward to the next step of your sale. I'd be happy to explain what happens to the estimate number when you convert it into an invoice.

The estimate number is separate from the invoice number, so when you convert your form, this number doesn't automatically carry over.

You can either edit the invoice number to match that of the estimate, or you can write the estimate number in the description field or notes section at the bottom of the invoice.

If you'd like to manually edit the invoice number to match the estimate number, you can do so by clicking the Invoice Number box, then entering your estimate number there.

If you'd like to add it as a description or note, simply click the correct field and type the estimate number there.

I hope this helps clear things up for you. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our tech support team

Have a great day.
