Hello mummy4,

I love that you've chosen QuickBooks Online to manage your books, and I'm here to make sure that everything is working as it should. When you create an invoice in the program, you should be able to enter all the necessary details, so I'd like to offer some troubleshooting steps to tackle this situation. I'll go over them below.

When creating an invoice in QuickBooks Online using the +New button or directly from the customer profile, you should be able to enter details such as the customer name, date, product/service information, and sales tax. The beauty of working with invoices in the program is that putting together the various pieces of the invoice prompts the program to enter things like the total due for you.

Entering the product and service information gives you the opportunity to have the details automatically populated if the item was set up in the Products and Services section or you can enter the amount manually. Attributing a sales tax to the line in the next column will prompt the program to calculate that into the total. It sounds like you may be adding your products/services to an invoice, but for some reason it's not entering the amount into the total. If that's the case, I recommend starting with troubleshooting steps like clearing your cache, trying a private browser window, or trying a different browser type. These steps ensure that there aren't any temporary files or browser issues that might be causing the problem.

If the issue persists, please don't hesitate to contact our team outside of this community forum to have a one-on-one discussion with a support member.
