How to see the history of the customer while creating an invoice

Hello YM12,

I can definitely see how having an overview of your customer history while creating an invoice would be useful. I suspect you may have previously been using QuickBooks Desktop, which does have that sort of panel when you're working with your customer transactions. I'd be happy to go over the options for QuickBooks Online.

In QuickBooks Online, you have the opportunity to review your customer transactions and history when you navigate to their profile through from the Customers page, which is accessed via the Sales tab. There, you'll see a list of the transactions you've created for this customer, their open and overdue balances, and their profile information.

At this time, the Online platform doesn't have a sidebar or place on an invoice or other transaction where you can see these kinds of details. If this is something you're used to, I see how this change could take some adjusting to. I encourage you to share your thoughts and ideas about that sort of access to customer history when creating an invoice by submitting feedback. The How do I submit feedback? article walks you through how to do that, and once you've submitted your thoughts, they're forwarded to the product development team for consideration.

If my mentioned of QuickBooks Desktop having this sort of detail had sparked your interest or you'd like to go back to QuickBooks Desktop, here are a few resources to help you with that decision.
