Why doesn't QB automatically create expenses when receipts are uploaded?

Hi there accounts-hdsolut,

 

It's key for any business to keep good records of all expenses made in order to be able to see the profitability of your business venture. QuickBooks Online can import receipts directly from image files, through the mobile app or from an email in order to have them ready for you to categorize in your books. I can provide some information about the Receipts feature.

 

The QuickBooks Online Receipts feature is a way to quickly import image files for you to attach to transactions. You still have to categorize the transaction as QuickBooks won't know which exact categories to assign to your transaction, or if it's a Bill or an Expense. Once this information is entered by you, the system can generate an Expense or Bill with the image file automatically attached to the transaction.
