Why is the generated invoice incorrect?Last invoice created was #264 therefore the create invoice should be 265

Hi robinson-barbara,

 

Welcome to Community!  Having transaction numbers automatically generated, is a great QuickBooks Online feature that allows you to locate transactions effortlessly.  I'll be happy to provide more information so you're able to complete your QuickBooks goals with peace of mind!

 

To ensure your invoices follow the sequence, I recommend checking your company settings to ensure this feature is enabled.  Here's how; 

 

1. Go to Settings ⚙ in the top right and select Account and settings

2. Open Sales from the left menu

3. Click on the Edit ✎ for Sales form content

4. Turn on Custom transaction numbers

Note; To reset the beginning number, open +New > Invoice and enter the starting Invoice number.  This will then follow the sequence on future forms.
