Would like to add 'internal' notes on an invoice.

I would like to add 'internal' notes on an Invoice or Bill --- exactly like I was able to with QBDT.  When will QBO be able to provide this functionality?

Hi there christinemc,

 

It's important that all your transactions are entered correctly for your books to be well balanced. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to help you create and send invoices so your customers know the services you offer. I can provide some information about invoices and bills.

 

When creating a bill, you can add an internal note to the bill by typing in the Memo field located at the bottom of the Create bill page. There isn't the option to add this type of internal note for invoices in QuickBooks Online. I can see that this would be a feature that you'd like in the software to be able to help keep track of invoices. I would recommend leaving feedback in the system by clicking on the Gear icon, then Feedback. The comments made in that section are taken into consideration by our developers when designing new features for QuickBooks Online.

The memo field can be seen on statements, so your suggestion will not do.

It would be useful to have this functionality. 

Quickbooks desktop had the ability to do this.

QBO should also.

I can understand how beneficial it would be to have the ability to add internal notes to your invoices, as you could in QuickBooks Desktop.  QuickBooks Online enables you to add internal notes to your customer profiles, by selecting the customer name from the Sales section, then select Edit.  You can add an internal note here.  However, as mentioned by my colleague, if you would like to see this available in future updates and feature improvements, I also recommend submitting Feedback to our Development Team.  Customer suggestions are greatly appreciated, while we strive to provide you with the best experience with QuickBooks Online.
