Our company did not run payroll for a month yet. I still had taxes taken out both IRS and state… Do you know why this is or how I can get the money back?

I wanted to address your concern about unexpected IRS and state tax deductions despite no payroll processing last month, ConstructionT. Let's work together to find the answers you need.

If the Auto Pay & File feature is turned on in your QuickBooks Online Payroll account, QuickBooks will automatically pay your taxes and file your forms. However, since you haven't run payroll for a month, I recommend contacting our Live Support Team. They have the tools to access your account in a secure environment, investigate the cause of the issue, and provide guidance on how you can get your money back.

You can contact them by clicking the Help button at the top-right corner of your QuickBooks Online Payroll account and choosing the Assistant tab to get help from the QB Assistant. From there, enter your question and select Chat with us or Have us call you. Be sure to check their support hours to know when they're available.

For future assistance, here's a great resource to help you complete this year's payroll tasks: Year-end checklist for QuickBooks Online Payroll.

We're here to ensure your experience is as smooth and worry-free as possible. Keep me posted if you have any other payroll concerns or questions. I'll be here to provide the assistance you need.
