Can someone please advise how to edit a posted Sales Tax Payment transaction?

Currently, editing sales tax payments in QuickBooks Online (QBO) isn't available. If you need to make changes to a sales tax payment, the current process requires you to delete the existing payment and then re-enter it with the correct amount and information.

 

Here's how to delete a sales tax payment:

 

  1. Go to Bank transactions, then Chart of accounts.
  2. Look for the bank you used to pay Sales tax payment.
  3. Hit View register and locate the paid sales tax transaction.
  4. Click the amount and choose Delete then Yes.
  5. Now, you can record the payment of your sales tax with the correct amount and information.
