QBO Payroll filing taxes and paying outside QBO

I file and pay our state payroll taxes outside of QBO. Every time I try to record the filing and payment in QBO I get an error. Is this happening to anyone else and if so, how did you correct this?

You can record tax payments from your Payroll Tax screen.

 

Here's how:
 

  1. In left navigation bar, go to Taxes, then Payroll Tax.
  2. Access the Payments tab.
  3. Review your listed payments and locate a tax you want to record a payment for.
  4. If the payment is listed, from your Drop-Down Arrow (▼) icon, choose Mark as paid.
  5. Select Yes, mark paid.

 

If a payment isn't listed:
 

  1. From the Payroll Tax screen, go to Payments, then Record tax payments (prior tax history).
  2. Click Add Payment.
  3. Pick a Tax Type and enter any necessary information.
  4. Select Submit payment.

 

In the event you continue encountering issues with recording transactions, I'd recommend troubleshooting your browser and confirming you meet each of our system requirements.

I've tried that several times, and every time I get error messages. One says "oops we are working on that" the other is a very long message that looks like coding. I had a case file (#15118109279), but still has not been resolved.

Since the error still persists, I recommend contacting our Customer Care Team again so they can further investigate your company data in a secure environment and ensure recording of these taxes is resolved efficiently. To do this:

 

  1. In your QBO account, click Help.
  2. Click the Search tab and click Contact Us.
  3. Enter the error message in the description box and select Continue.
  4. Start a chat with a support expert.
