Quarterly Sales Tax

Hello - I'm getting ready to pay my quarterly sales taxes.  When I proceed to review the sales tax, up at the top right of the report, I see Payment details.  Number of Payments is equal to 0, yet under "Other" it shows an amount paid of 335.32.  Yet this is a quarter to which I've not made any payments.  So I'm confused and don't know where I can find this transaction.  I've looked at my bank register and there's no transaction for that amount.  How can I find where this is coming from?

When I drill to the detail on the liability report, it seems correct.  Its this random "payment" it says I made that concerns me.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Amy

Thank you for bringing your concern to our attention. I understand that you're puzzled by the amount showing under 'Other' in your sales tax report, despite the 'Number of Payments' indicating zero, @deeprootsturf. I will outline the possible causes for this discrepancy and provide steps to help you find the source of that amount.

There are a few possible reasons why you might be seeing that $335.32 amount. It could relate to adjustments from a prior period, credits or refunds applied to your sales tax liability, or even a data entry error that led to a missing transaction.

Let’s start by checking your Payment History in the Sales Tax section. This will help us identify any transactions that may have occurred but weren't recorded correctly. It’s an effective way to ensure that nothing has been overlooked.

Next, I recommend taking a look at the Audit Log. This will show you any changes that have been made to sales tax accounts, helping you identify any adjustments that could explain the discrepancy.

  1. Select the Gear icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Under Tools, choose Audit Log.
  3. Filter User, Date, and Events.
