Recording "overdue" sales tax payment

When I filed and paid my January sales tax, it looks like I recorded the adjustments in the Sales Tax screens, but didn't record the payment.  The month's tax now shows as "overdue" and when I review the tax liability there is no "record payment" button any longer.  *I can add an adjustment but not a payment.  The payment has loaded from my bank, but of course I can't match it to anything.

How do I record the payment?

You can record the sales tax payment as you normally would, @dLearned. Since you're not seeing the option on your end, let's perform browser troubleshooting to fix this issue. I'll provide the steps below.

To begin with, browsers often store cached data from frequently accessed sites, which can result in unexpected behavior. To address this, please open your account in a private or incognito window to rule out cache problems in your browser. You can use the following keyboard shortcuts based on the type of browser you are using:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If it works, return to your regular browser and clear its cache to refresh the website's preferences. You can also utilize a supported browser as an alternative.

Additionally, refer to this guide on generating a sales tax liability report: Check how much sales tax you owe in QBO. This report is essential for tracking the sales tax you have collected and ensuring accurate payments to tax authorities.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can assist you with recording overdue sales tax payments, @dLearned. We're here to ensure your experience remains smooth and satisfactory.
