Sales Tax Liability Report - Need to consolidate or group by Rate

We only have Sales in one County, State

We have special rates.

Report (included)

 

There are four lines. I expect only two.

State and 10.5% should be merged.

County and 1% should be merged.

 

They are not duplicated. I need to add them up to get the correct taxable amounts and taxes.

 

This company was setup from scratch in QBO. 

If we can group by rate, this can also work.

 

Any ideas?

The Sales Tax Liability Report breaks down sales taxes by agency and rate such as state, county, city, and special rates with each displayed on separate lines.

 

Currently, grouping or consolidating these rates within the report is unavailable. State and county taxes appear individually because they are associated with distinct agencies and rates, and special rates applied to certain items can add additional lines.

I am having the same issue. I need these combined and need total sales numbers and total taxable/non taxable sales in order to report these on my state sales tax return. This report is about the most confusing thing I've ever seen as some of these sales are in multiple categories but I can't see that on the main form.

As an alternative, you can export the Sales Tax Liability report to Excel, where you can manually consolidate State and County taxes for a clearer and more concise format. This solution will help you generate the data you need effectively.

 

Here's how to do it:

 

  1. Go to the Reports tab.
  2. Type the Sales Tax Liability in the search tab to view the report.



  3. To export your report, click the export icon between the printer and the ellipses icon.
  4. Select Export to Excel.
