Hi. QuickBooks won't allow me to set my Unemployment Insurance rate below 0.3%. I received an official notice that it'll be 0.2% in 2025.  Any suggestions?

Thanks! Jeff

Hello there, JeffG24. I'd gladly provide details about editing your Unemployment Insurance rate in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

When entering your new rate and its effective date, please note that this varies by state. For most states, the effective date is January 1st, while for Tennessee, Vermont, and New Jersey, the effective date is July 1st.

This means that QuickBooks will not allow you to use the new rate or date before the designated effective date.

That said, if you can't change the current year's rate, send your notice to us. We’ll update the rate for you.

For more detailed guidance, please refer to this article: Update your State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) rate.

Additionally, you can run payroll reports to get a comprehensive overview of your business finances.

We are always here to assist you with your payroll and QBO concerns, Jeff. Have a great day ahead.
