I filed my W2 and did not have Quickbook file automatically for me.  I can not find where to print my W-3 I need to file.  I have paused my Quickbooks account because my business is closed however I was able to print all other year end tax info.  Can you help?

Let’s work together to complete your year-end tax filing, Dkrene. I’m here to help you find the best solution for getting your W-3 printed and filed, ensuring everything is accurate.

In QuickBooks Online, manually filling out the W-2 form is required to file the W-3 along with it. However, if you utilize our auto-filing feature or our payroll services for electronic filing, QuickBooks will automatically manage the submission of your W-2s, eliminating the need to file Form W-3 separately.

Since you filed your W-2 manually in QuickBooks without using the auto-filing service, I recommend downloading a blank W-3 form from the IRS website and filling it out manually. To assist you in completing Form W-3 accurately, you can generate a report that contains the necessary information.

Here’s how to obtain the report that will help you fill out Form W-3:

  1. Navigate to the Reports from the navigation left panel.
  2. In the Find report by name dropdown, enter Payroll Tax and Wage Summary.
  3. Change the date range to This Year and choose Apply.
  4. Select the Share dropdown, and choose if you want to save or print your report.

Furthermore, I’ve included a helpful resource on customizing reports to obtain the necessary information: Customize Payroll and Employee Reports.
